Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling

My Harry Potter life is now complete. What an awesome 9-10 years it has been in the world of Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dumbledore, Snape, Lupin, Tonks, Sirius, Dursley's, Ginny and the other Weasley's, house elves, centaurs, Hagrid and Grawp, dragons, Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, St. Mungo's, Hogsmead, Platform 9-3/4 and the Hogwart's Express, the Forbidden Forest, the Whomping Willow, the Shrieking Shack, the Leaky Cauldron, wizards, goblins, wands, cauldrons, Deatheaters, Voldemort, Rita Skeeter, Professors McGonagall, Flitwick, Sprout, Trelawny, owls, Peeves, ghosts, Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, Slytherins, hippogriffs, enormous spiders, blast-ended skrewts, mandrakes and bubotuber pus.

I finished my copy of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" this morning and can say that I was not disappointed a bit. I loved it! My opinion may not be the same as all, but as I said above, my life with Harry is complete. I found the book answered almost all of my questions and proved most of my theories (I wasn't right about everything). It had sufficient action, maturing, soul-searching and sacrifice on the part of Harry especially but also Ron and Hermione for my tastes. I won't give away any spoilers for those that have not finished the book. I will say that I cried in at least two parts and raced through the last 100 pages of the book. Several well-beloved characters lost their lives or were injured badly. However, there was also great love shown, vast self-sacrifice, and enough justice to make me happy. It's been quite a ride! I'm tempted to start over at the beginning and read them all again!

  1. Kay,

I think your review is perfect! It doesn't give away anything.

I loved the last book, and, like you, I'm tempted to start over.

  3. I went back and went over the last 150 pages this morning just to kind relive that part. Les, you have lots of fun to come. Lesa, thanks for the comment!

  4. You've written a wonderful review. I'm curious what theories you were not right about.
