Yes, this is a picture of some shoes. Very pretty shoes, in my opinion. The kind of shoes that I used to love to wear (or told my aching feet that I loved to wear them). No more, of course. But...I still love to look at pretty shoes. My favorite place in the mall - Nordstrom's shoe department. Do you know Nordstrom's? Discovered it when we lived in Portland, Oregon. If you've been, 'nuff said.
These shoes are the ones that my daughter wore on her wedding day five years ago. Yesterday was our daughter and son-in-law's 5th anniversary. I was clearing out some things in a closet and noticed a shoe box tucked in among some boxes of books that belong to my girl (she'll get them one day). In the shoe box, these shoes.
Here's my favorite candid shot from their wedding. I love this one because they both look so delighted. It was taken as they were walking out after they had been pronounced husband and wife. Grins on both their faces.
Happy anniversary, kids! Here's to 50+ more!
I love shoes and have a closet full of them to prove it. Not that I can wear heels like that anymore, I just don't part with the shoes.
ReplyDeleteCandid shots are the best. They really do look happy!
Beautiful photos, Kay. Your daughter looks radiant, what a lovely couple.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, Kay - great memories.
ReplyDeleteI'm a shoe lover too and have loads that I can't wear any more - too high for me now. But I can't part with them either.
What a lovely post you made about your daughter, just from clearing out a closet!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly do look like a very happy couple!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the shoes, like she has just discarded them after a night of dancing. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shoes! And what a great snapsot -- they look very happy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice picture - both of the them! I like candid wedding shots best too!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter collects shoes like they might stop producing them....
ReplyDeleteShe has some fabulous ones.
I do recall enjoying those crazy platform shoes from back in the day.
I stay closer to the ground these days...lol
Thanks for sharing. Love the new look and name of your blog!
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT and here’s
MY WEBSITE
Happy anniversary to your daughter and S-I-L! Wishing them many more years of bliss.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful shoes with very wonderful memories attached! Ohhhh the days of past filled with gorgeous spiky heeled shoes! I am more a tennis shoe type of girl these days, but I still stop to admire a nice pair of heels!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are so pretty (and do look a bit painful). :) They look so happy in that wedding photo!
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the Cinderella story. Can't wear this kind of shoe anymore either. What does that say?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the happy faces.
Love to wear those shoes too, and only occasionally do now. Your daughter and son in law do look awfully happy. The best for 50+ more as well.
ReplyDeleteLove the story and photo about the shoes. Nice couple.
ReplyDeleteGreat shoes; lovely wedding photo.
ReplyDeleteDelights of the newlyweds. They can continue to delight each other forever.
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty shoes! I also like her dress, it's lovely!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to them! Five years. I can't believe it.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a shoe person at all. I guess I missed that woman gene. :<) (not jewelry or handbags either)
I love the shoes and all the beautiful memories that they evoked. That is an awesome photo..candid's are much more fun in my opinion. She's gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to them!
Happy anniversary to your daughter!! I love the joy in the picture you shared.
ReplyDeleteAnd Nordstrom? Yes, to die for. It's probably a good thing I can't afford anything there. ;) I used to be quite the shoe junky but have terrible problems with my feet so stick to flats these days. But I die over a good pair of heels...
Great shoes! And a lovely bride, too. I love beautiful shoes, but don't think I could ever have worn those -- I tend to walk right out of shoes without at least a back strap!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Joysweb, and have a great week.
Sweet pictures!
ReplyDeleteHas it really been five years already? I love this photo. Thanks for sharing it with us, Kay. And, you know, I can't wear heels anymore either. They hurt my knees too much. :(
ReplyDeleteI love your daughter's dress - the satin detail on the bottom is very pretty and classic.
ReplyDeleteI do like shoes but handbags are my weakness!
